We are involved in many philanthropic events both on and off campus. We are
also involved in our new national philanthropy, Camp Fire USA!
For more information, visit the
International Gamma

Campfire USA. We are always looking for more
new and exciting philanthropy events, if you have any ideas or suggestions
contact philanthropy chair,
Adrienne Wagner.
- Camp Fire USA
- Camp Fire USA is our National Philanthropy. We work to
sponsor girls to go to camps during the summer.

- Relay for Life
-
Each year we participate in Relay for
Life - this 24 Hour walk for the American Cancer Society is attended by the entire
Alma College community. It is a great event that not only helps fight
cancer, but also allows us time to spend walking and talking with our
sisters.

- Adopt-A-Highway
-
Each fall and spring we put on our orange vests and
clean up our 3 mile stretch of highway along US-27.

- Semi-Formal
- Each fall we host a semi-formal
dance, with a new theme every year open for all to attend.

- Derby Days
- Derby Days is a competition sponsored by the Sigma Chi fraternity, where all of the sororities on campus compete for top honors and raise money for charity along the way! We
were the
"Six-peat" Champions from 2000-2006!

- Safety Fest
-
Each October we volunteer our time at Gratiot
County's Safety Fest. We work at all locations, sometimes even in the
haunted house. It's a fun way for us to help the community and spend
time with each other.
- Lucky MacDuck Day
- Each year on the Saturday after Labor Day we
volunteer our time to help out the Arts of Gratiot County. The day
includes a craft fair, Duck Derby (where rubber ducks are bought and
sent on a race down Pine River), children's games and activities, and an
assortment of entertainment including dancers, musicians and theatre
acts. We help out with set-up, clean-up, parking, and the
children's games and crafts. We have a great time washing all
those rubber ducky's after the race! It's a great opportunity to
get involved with our local community.
