Alpha Xi Delta has a long and distinguished tradition on the Alma College campus.
Founded on campus in 1902 as the Philomathean Society, the group became Alpha Philo and soon changed to Alpha Zeta Tau. in 1986 we were chartered as the Zeta Upsilon chapter of Alpha Xi Delta. The founding of ΑΞΔ on campus brought with it a strong tradition of scholarly excellence and aspirations of a united sisterhood.
These traditions continue within our group as our sisterhood is continually made stronger through such activities as all chapter retreats, formal dances, ice skating, and fun trips to places such as Uncle John's Cider Mill. We maintain high academic standards by requiring all of our members, new an initiated, to maintain a 2.25 cumulative G.P.A.
In addition to their academic pursuits, our members are also active on the campus in activities outside of ΑΞΔ There are sisters participating in Varsity Athletics, the Alma College Dance Company, Student Government, Alma College Choirs and Orchestra, as Resident Assistants, Orientation Committee members, Athletic Trainers, and in several academic honoraries. The sisters of Alpha Xi Delta followed their hearts when choosing this group and we look forward to meeting those individuals who want to join ΑΞΔ — "For all the Right Reasons!"
