Usher Information

Usher Information Sheet

• Arrive ONE HOUR AND 15 MINUTES before an event. You must be dressed and ready ONE HOUR before the event time.  The House Manager will begin instructions promptly at that time.  If you are late, you will not receive class credit.

• Wear either black slacks or skirts. Shirts, cummerbunds and ties will be provided.  Wear comfortable shoes, as you will be on your feet the entire time.

• Always sign in at the Box Office when you arrive to usher. This is the only way to ensure that you will receive credit.

• Any time you sign up for a show that time slot is your responsibility.  If you are unable to make it, it is your responsibility to find a replacement. If there is a need to exchange dates it must be arranged well ahead of the performance date.

• Shirts are located in the Utility Closet.  The Head Usher or House Manager will let you in upon arrival.  Please make sure to find a shirt that fits properly.

• Be polite to all patrons. Others hear your conversations with friends, so depending on what you say it may reflect badly on the College.

• Actively enforce House Rules. Caring for the building is everyone's responsibility to ensure it continues to be available for all of us. If at anytime you feel uncomfortable with this, let the House Manager know.

• If you are unable to help a patron, ask them to wait while you get the House Manager.

• After the doors have closed, bring the box of torn stubs to the House Manager or Box Office.

• When you are released by the House Manager after the event, please be sure to hang your shirt up neatly. If you do not take proper care of the clothing you will not receive class credit.
