Prominent anti-racist author, activist and educator Tim Wise explores the risks of the concept of colorblindness as a strategy to address racism and racial injustice. Focusing on racial rhetoric in the era of Barack Obama, Wise argues that the rise of “post-racial politics” actually signals a retreat from a commitment to racial equality.

Alma College is one of the first undergraduate colleges in the United States to belong to the International Criminal Court Student Network (ICCSN). Created in 2006 by students at the London School of Economics, the ICCSN aims to promote the work of the ICC and increase knowledge of international criminal law. Alma joins Duke University School of Law, the University of Cambridge and other institutions in a global community that connects students who share an interest in the ICC.

For Rebecca Miller ’09, the smell of printing inks and light axle grease wafting in daily from the printing press floor is the scent of her dream career.

After graduating from Alma College, she followed her passion—and her nose—to Boxcar Press, the largest letterpress printing company in the country, where she is a pre-press professional. She also is a freelance illustrator.
