Alternative Breaks Include Outreach to Urban Youth
Five Alternative Break service experiences will engage Alma College students during their winter break, ranging from building homes to interacting with border immigrants to assisting with disaster cleanup efforts.

 

Bob Devaney, a 1939 graduate of Alma College, went on to become known as one of the greatest coaches in collegiate football history. In his 11 years as head coach at Nebraska, Devaney produced 11 winning seasons with two national championships. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1981. At Alma he played end and was the Scots’ Most Valuable Player in 1938.

Mike Sheldon is the man to see when you need to use the Heritage Center.

“My favorite part of working at Alma is the people. ” As the building manager of the Heritage Center, Sheldon not only manages and oversees performances and activities in Presbyterian Hall, he also creates and maintains the building budget.
