Choir Previews Winter Break Tour Repertoire
The Alma College Choir will preview songs it will perform on its upcoming winter break tour to schools and churches in southwest Michigan and Illinois.
The choir, directed by Will Nichols, performs at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21 in the Remick Heritage Center at Alma College. Admission is free and open to the public; no ticket is required.

The concert includes “O Fortuna” from the opening chorus of “Carmina Burana,” the well-known spiritual “Elijah Rock,” Dolly Parton’s “Light of a Clear Blue Morning,” and a contemporary version of a Bach chorale, as well as a variety of traditional worship and folk songs and spirituals.
The Choir’s winter break tour begins Friday, Feb. 22 and continues through Thursday, Feb. 28, with performances scheduled in Sturgis, Chicago, Wilmette, Ill., Mt. Carroll, Ill., Kalamazoo, Charlotte and Grand Haven.
On March 3, the Choir will join the Alma College Percussion Ensemble, Pipe Band, Dance Company and Kiltie Dancers for “Resonance: A Celebration of the Performing Arts” at DeVos Performance Hall in Grand Rapids. Tickets for “Resonance” are available at: http://www.alma.edu/resonance.
