Students Explore Remnants of Incan Architecture in Peru
An Alma College class recently traveled to Peru to study the ties between the country’s populations and their Incan ancestors.

 

The Alma College Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) team has won 11 consecutive regional championships. The competition awards the SIFE teams that are most effective in teaching the principles of market economics through outreach projects in their communities. Last year’s team presented 12 projects, including teaching ethics and entrepreneurship skills to students at a juvenile detention center and launching an entrepreneurship competition for students with business ideas.

Helping children rehabilitate from illness is a career for the truly compassionate. With her enthusiasm for helping others, Alma College alumna Susan Kattula fits the bill.

After graduating from Alma in 2003, Kattula, who studied psychology and exercise and health science, attended Washington University in St. Louis, Mo., where she earned a master’s degree in occupational therapy.

She worked for a pediatric clinic in Chicago before moving back to St. Louis to accept a position at a specialty pediatric hospital, where she primarily sees outpatient and day treatment children.
