Percussion Ensemble Performs Fall Concert
The Alma College Percussion Ensemble will take its audience “around the world” with a wide variety of selections at the group’s annual fall concert.
The concert takes place at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2 in the Remick Heritage Center. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for seniors 62 and up, and free for Alma College staff, students and youth 18 and under. Seating is reserved. Call (989) 463-7304 for ticket information.

“The concert will include David Maslanka’s ‘Montana Music: Three Dances for Percussion,’ a piece dedicated to the spirit of the Earth,” explains David Zerbe, director of percussion and bands. “Also featured will be ‘Tulang Lindung,’ a Javanese gamelan piece arranged for four performers on two marimbas.”
Along with these songs will be several high-energy pieces by the jazz percussion and steel drum ensemble.
“The concert will showcase a wide variety of musical genres and an energetic performance overall,” says Zerbe.
