Enrollment Exceeds 1,400 For Third Straight Year
A 6.5 percent increase in new students and a total headcount of more than 1,400 students for the third straight year highlight Alma College’s 2011 enrollment.

Alma’s innovative PRISM project—Positive Routes Into Science and Mathematics—gets more students excited about science. It engages students in research opportunities not only in their first, second, third and fourth years of college but also in the summer prior to taking their first college course. PRISM is funded by a $500,000 grant from the National Science Foundation.

Emily Boerman

Emily Boerman
Graduation: 2009
Major: Sociology and Spanish

While Emily Boerman ’09 never had the opportunity to meet legendary alumnus Frank Knox, who enrolled in 1893, she has made surprising connections with other Alma College alumni.

“I met a man who was at Alma the same year I was born, and we were still able to talk easily about the campus and experience,” she says. “You really don’t realize how small the world is until you get out there.”
