College Corner Offers Merchandise, Apparel, Books
A grand opening ceremony for College Corner Coffee and Books — the new Alma College facility that bridges downtown Alma with the campus — will take place at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23. All are welcome.
College Corner offers general merchandise, campus apparel and books and is home to Stucchi’s Ice Cream Shop. The store is strategically located on the northeast corner of Wright Avenue and Superior Street. In December, the College bookstore also will relocate to this facility.

“College Corner symbolizes our ongoing efforts to more closely link the College with the downtown area, to broaden learning and community service opportunities for our students, and to help our community thrive in a challenging economic environment,” says Alma College President Jeff Abernathy. “This is a facility for everyone in our community, whether it is to enjoy a sandwich or ice cream treat at Stucchi’s or peruse the books, apparel and other items available in the bookstore.”
The College purchased the former Kentwood Pharmacy building in January for the purpose of relocating its bookstore operation and providing a new home for Stucchi’s, the popular Alma ice cream shop that was destroyed by a fire in October 2010.
