Commencement Held for 300 Degree Candidates
ALMA, Mich. -- Alma College announces that 300 degree candidates participated in the college's 2011 Commencement ceremony on Saturday, April 23, 2011. Dr. Davidson L. Hepburn, president of the 35th Session of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) General Conference and Chair of the Antiquities, Monuments, and Museums Corporation of the Bahamas was the guest speaker.
Dr. Hepburn, who began his career in the English faculty at Alma College (1964-70) is internationally recognized for his diplomatic skills and his advocacy for small developing nations and small island states. He received a honorary Doctor of Humanities degree at the college's commencement ceremony.
