Student Presentations Focus of Honors Day

ALMA, Mich. — Over 100 Alma College students participated in Alma College's 15th annual Kapp Honors Day program on Thursday, April 7, 2011. This day provides a forum when traditional classes are canceled and students share their original research, creativity and talents with an audience of their peers.

In sessions spanning four hours, students perform in music, theatre and dance productions, give oral presentations of scholarly research, and lead poster discussions. With many students participating, other students are encouraged to attend as many presentations as possible both to support their fellow students and to learn from them.

Students and the titles of their presentations are listed alphabetically by their hometown.

Graduate Profile

Katie Matonich

Katie Matonich
Graduation: 2008
Major: English

When she was still an Alma College student, Katie Matonich’s advice to students was “to remember that being an English major isn’t all rainbows and sunshine, but it’s what makes writing about rainbows and sunshine fun!”

Now, as the development coordinator for the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, she seems to have found her pot of gold.
