Spring Term Features Global Destinations
South America will be a popular destination for Alma College students during the May 2011 Spring Term, with Europe and the United Kingdom close behind.

Kapp Prize Awarded to Student Presentations
Juniors Elisabeth Bletsch and Jessica Paige received the Ronald O. Kapp Honors Day Prize for their outstanding Honors Day presentations in the social sciences and humanities.

 

Alma College students have experiential learning opportunities in Washington, D.C. and around the world through the College’s partnership with the Osgood Center for International Studies. The Osgood Center offers annual leadership, business and foreign policy conferences for college students on contemporary international issues.

A childhood interest in nature became a love of bird watching for Alma College lab instructor Mike Bishop.

“A few people have called my interest in birds obsessive,” he says. “I prefer passionate.”

Bishop has been teaching at Alma since 1998 and directs the Alma College Bird Observatory, located on the College’s 200-acre ecological station.
