Students Explore Alma College's 125-year History
How unique is Alma College’s 125-year history? Students in a new course will find out while spending the semester in the library’s archives.

Popular Piano Duo To Perform Expressive Music
Husband-and-wife duo Tony Patterson and Casey Robards perform at the piano keys in a concert that features works from classical to jazz to music from the movies.

More than one-third of all Alma students take part in at least one performance each year. The College offers majors in theatre, dance and music, but students of all majors may join in productions. The Remick Heritage Center for the Performing Arts is the region’s premier performing arts facility.

Student Profile

Emily Hollenberg

Emily Hollenberg
Graduation: 2014
Major: English

Whether she’s reading a Pulitzer Prize-winning bestseller or penning a novel of her own, Indiana junior Emily Hollenberg’s native language is literature.

“I’ve loved English my whole life, and once I outgrew the firefighter stage, I knew I wanted to teach it,” she says. “I would like to be a high school teacher and also continue to write, whether as a novelist, poet or blogger. You can express yourself in a different way through reading and writing. They transport you to a different world for a while.”
