Commencement 2010: Degrees, Memories, Hugs

More than 240 graduating seniors received their degrees during Alma College's 2010 commencement ceremony April 24. Diego del Corral received an honorary Doctor of Laws degree and discussed "The Value of All" during his remarks to the graduates.

Alma encourages its students to look beyond Michigan’s boundaries. The Posey Global Leadership Scholarship provides opportunities for Alma College students to travel anywhere in the world and complete a self-designed project. Alma students have completed projects on topics ranging from teaching to public policy, in places from the Philippines to South Africa.

Susan Kattula

Susan Kattula

Major: Psychology and Exercise and Health Science

Helping children rehabilitate from illness is a career for the truly compassionate. With her enthusiasm for helping others, Alma College alumna Susan Kattula fits the bill.

After graduating from Alma in 2003, Kattula, who studied psychology and exercise and health science, attended Washington University in St. Louis, Mo., where she earned a master’s degree in occupational therapy.

She worked for a pediatric clinic in Chicago before moving back to St. Louis to accept a position at a specialty pediatric hospital, where she primarily sees outpatient and day treatment children.
