"Raven Bourne," Linda Ferguson

Ferguson, a 1976 Alma College graduate, creates abstracts that typically originate in the natural world. She writes in her artist’s statement, “My work expresses my affinity for the organic. I build and reduce visual plane through a pictorial syntax of layered impressions.”

She has received several awards for her artwork. After achieving a master’s degree in visual arts from the Rhode Island School for Design, she moved to the Upper Peninsula, where she helped found the Alger Area Arts Council and served as curator for Oasis Gallery, a Marquette, Mich., non-profit gallery. In addition to teaching, she also currently is a board member of the DeVos Art Museum at NMU.

Artwork by John Hubbard

Hubbard, who has taught art at NMU since 1969, has an extensive list of academic and artistic awards, grants and publications. He has presented his art at more than 150 one-man, two-person and group shows over the past 40 years. His artistic experience includes papermaking, drawing, printmaking and painting. He has a master of fine arts degree from Syracuse University.

"Monument," Michael Letts

Letts is a professional artist and teacher who has taught at public schools and NMU since 1991. His art has most recently been exhibited in Green Bay, Wisc., Grand Rapids, Escanaba, Marquette, Saginaw, Houghton and Chicago, and his works are included in more than 10 permanent collections. He has a master of fine arts degree from Ohio State University.
