Class of 2013 Has Arrived

 

With great anticipation and expectations, the Class of 2013 arrived Saturday for the start of PreTerm and a new phase of life. Alma College staff, the student Orientation Committee and Resident Hall Directors and Assistants helped the new students and their parents move into the students' home away from home. More than 425 new students embarked on a weeklong schedule of Preterm classes, organized events and social activities designed to help them adjust to life on campus.

The Smith Arena, the new addition to the Hogan Center, serves as the primary venue for commencement, convocations, major speakers, concerts, athletics and other major events.

Whether you call him a baseball-playing history buff or a history-loving baseball player, one thing is clear: Neil Youngdahl is able to pursue both of his passions at Alma College.

“History is a subject that has interested me since elementary school, so I decided I wanted to keep studying it in college,” he says. “It can be tough to balance sports and academics, but it forces you to learn how to manage your time and prioritize to get things done.”
