Graduating Seniors Honored at Commencement '09

Lots of smiles, warm sunshine, family members, faculty support and feelings of accomplishment were the highlights of Commencement '09 at Alma College.

More than 260 graduates participated in commencement activities April 18 in Cappaert Gymnasium in the Hogan Center.

Alma College is among the top 40 baccalaureate institutions in the country for the percentage of students who choose to study abroad, according to a report published by the Institute for International Education. Among Alma’s graduates in the 2009–10 academic year, 61.4 percent participated in study abroad, which ranked 37th in the nation.

“I love the part after the show when you’re able to see people’s reactions to your performance, especially when you’re really able to move someone,” she says. “Knowing that you did a good job and that all your hard work really meant something are such strong feelings.”
