Kiltie Marching Band Performs Indoor Show

As the weather gets colder, the 86th edition of the Kiltie Marching Band at Alma College prepares for its annual indoor concert at the Remick Heritage Center.

This year, the band will perform its Gershwin outdoor show along with music from the 1960s. Performances take place at 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14 and Saturday, Nov. 15.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for seniors, and free for students or youth 18 and under. Seating is reserved. Call (989) 463-7304 for ticket information.

The Kiltie Marching Band moves from the football field to the Remick Heritage Center for its annual indoor show Nov. 14-15.

The Kiltie Marching Band comprises 91 members led by three drum majors: Manistee senior Beth Kirchenberg, Alma senior Nathan Glitman and Cheboygan sophomore Eleanor King.

Recent Alma College graduates Justin Rito and Jake Finkbeiner created the musical arrangements for the show, which also will include the College’s student pipers, colorguard and drum line.

The concert will feature multiple soloists and sections that “show off the breadth of this year’s Kiltie Marching Band,” according to Director of Bands David Zerbe.

Spring Term courses offer students opportunities to break out of the “Alma Bubble.” Off-campus study, especially in a foreign country, shows you how you relate to the rest of the world and how the rest of the world views American people, politics and policies. You can then integrate your real world experiences into your academic programs and your future career.
