Gilbert Researches Story of Crazy Horse Monument
Joanne Gilbert is preparing a theatrical performance to tell the story of the Crazy Horse Monument in the Black Hills of South Dakota.

 

In December 2011, Alma College students, faculty and staff designed and hosted a conference in Washington, D.C., on the 500th anniversary of human rights advocacy. Earlier in the year, Alma College became one of the first undergraduate colleges in the United States to belong to the International Criminal Court Student Network, joining Duke University School of Law, The University of Cambridge and other prestigious institutions in a global community that connects students who share an interest in the ICC.

Mark Oemke grew up catching frogs and crayfish, sparking an interest in the water systems of Michigan.

“I find the uniqueness of aquatic plants and animals very interesting as their adaptations to life in the water are often quite extraordinary,” the assistant professor of biology says. “I am always finding something new to investigate and the questions are never answered.”
