More Than 1,800 Attend Albright Speech

More than 1,800 people filled Cappaert Gymnasium for a speech by former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright at Alma College on Sept. 12.

Albright discussed leadership and respect during her talk and reflected on her career as Secretary of State during President Bill Clinton's administration. Prior to her public speech, she met with Alma College students for a question-and-answer session. Following her speech, she signed books for nearly 45 minutes. The photos below document her visit to Alma College.

Spring Term at Alma is a one-month immersion on a single academic topic that offers learning experiences not typically available during the more traditional 15-week fall and winter terms. For example, during Spring Term 2012, students observed lizards in Bermuda, studied modern economic development in India, performed dance in Taiwan, examined renewable energy in Europe and investigated medicinal plants in the Amazon rainforest.
