Two Scots Named All-Americans in Track and Field

A pair of Alma College men's track performers have earned All-American status with top 10 finishes at the NCAA National Championships.

Junior sprinter Kyle Percival (Lansing/Waverly) won the MIAA Championship in the 100 meter dash with a time of 10.97 seconds. At Nationals, Percival finished second in his qualifying heat with a time of 10.69 seconds and finished eight overall with a time of 10.92 seconds.

Freshman triple jumper Frankie Brun (Oscoda/Culver Academies) broke the Alma College record  when he set a mark of 47-feet, 9 1/2 inches, while winning the Aquinas Invitation. At Nationals, he broke 48 feet, recording a distance of 48-0 3/4, finishing eighth, and setting a new Alma College record.

Thirty-four percent of Alma students participate in intercollegiate athletics. Alma College competes at the NCAA Division III level as a member of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association, the oldest existing athletic conference in the nation.
