Seniors Select Homecoming Court

Members of the Alma College senior class voted 12 of their classmates to the 2006 Homecoming Court. During Homecoming Week, the entire student body votes for the King and Queen with the results announced during halftime ceremonies of the football game Saturday, Oct. 7.

The Homecoming Queen candidates are, front row from left, Sarah DeYoung of Kentwood, Kelle Sajdek of Southgate, Heather Richardson of St. Louis, Kelley Halverson of Roscommon, Mollie Smith of Grand Haven, and Kristen Minter of Almont.

The Homecoming King candidates are, back row, Drew Hanley of Memphis, Marcus Hong of Salt Lake City, Utah, Michael Miller of Grand Rapids, Lucas Livingston of Trenton, Kevin McCarthy of Howell, Micheal Buggia of Mayville.

 

Alma College boasts a 13-to-1 student-to-teacher ratio, a liberal arts approach to undergraduate education, 33 academic majors, self-designed programs of emphasis, pre-professional programs in law and medicine, and an intensive Spring Term that provides opportunities for innovative courses, travel classes, research and internships.

Whether you call him a baseball-playing history buff or a history-loving baseball player, one thing is clear: Neil Youngdahl is able to pursue both of his passions at Alma College.

“History is a subject that has interested me since elementary school, so I decided I wanted to keep studying it in college,” he says. “It can be tough to balance sports and academics, but it forces you to learn how to manage your time and prioritize to get things done.”
