The Class of 1955 gathered Friday
at the President's House for a reception during their 50th reunion.
During their undergraduate years, Dr. John Stanley Harker was the College
President. The Tyler Center, Van Dusen Commons, Reid-Knox
Administration Building and the first football stadium at Bahlke Field
were built. After they left, tuition was raised 16 percent and faculty

Alma encourages its students to look beyond Michigan’s boundaries. The Posey Global Leadership Scholarship provides opportunities for Alma College students to travel anywhere in the world and complete a self-designed project. Alma students have completed projects on topics ranging from teaching to public policy, in places from the Philippines to South Africa.

Though Matt Stoneback ’04 studied music education at Alma College, his interest in new media studies was so huge, it could have been measured in petabytes.
“I was very interested in music technology, so I really pushed new media studies,” he says. “I actually wrote the program of emphasis for it that many students went on to use.”
