Provost '76 Chosen to Chair Board of Trustees

Alma College Shares Teagle Foundation Grant for Assessment
A consortium of Midwest highly selective liberal arts colleges that includes Alma College has been awarded a $300,000 grant from the Teagle Foundation designed to measure civic engagement and enhance their students’ educational experience.

 

Alma College’s nationally recognized Model United Nations program has won top honors for 16 consecutive years (1997–2012) — the longest active winning streak of any college or university in the nation. Alma College’s all-time 30 “outstanding delegation” awards are the most of any college or university in the 90-year history of the conference.

Dr. Jeff Turk

Dr. Jeff Turk’s parents sealed his fate when they bought him a chemistry set at age nine. The last three weeks of his high school AP Chemistry class sparked his interest in organic chemistry.

The assistant professor of chemistry joined Alma faculty in 2006 after earning his undergraduate degree at Cleveland State University and his masters and doctoral degrees at the University of Cincinnati.
