Class Reaches Arctic Circle
On a recent Alaskan trip to investigate the ramifications of the Exxon Valdez oil spill, 14 Alma College students and their professor became the first Spring Term class to reach the Arctic Circle.

Speaker Series Scheduled
The 2004-05 Alma College Speakers Series topics reflect society's current interest in terrorism, politics and the origins of humankind.

 

The Alma College Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) team has won 11 consecutive regional championships. The competition awards the SIFE teams that are most effective in teaching the principles of market economics through outreach projects in their communities. Last year’s team presented 12 projects, including teaching ethics and entrepreneurship skills to students at a juvenile detention center and launching an entrepreneurship competition for students with business ideas.

The Grand Rapids junior, who is pursuing a career in medicine, recently completed hospital rotations at Mid Michigan Health Center—Gratiot. She says observing a patient with Parkinson’s disease was something she’ll never forget.
