Trip Reflections

These are the experiences of Alma students helping employees of Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area as they prepare for their 2006 season and its 2 million visitors. With nine campgrounds, sixteen lake access areas, six large visitor facilities and over two hundred miles of trails, Forest Service staff time is precious and the park's volunteer program allows them to accomplish much more work. Students perform trail maintenance, litter clean-up and many other activities.

Alma’s off-campus study programs do more than place students in exciting locales to meet interesting people; they also create new opportunities for personal growth and skill development. One of the best ways to learn about other societies and cultures is to study and travel in international settings. You do not always have to know a foreign language.
