Faith-based Hurricane Relief, Gulfport, Miss.

Alma students will assist the Presbytery of Mississippi with Hurricane Katrina relief work and participate in worship experiences in the Gulf Coast area.

Alma College received a $150,000 grant from the National Science Foundation in August 2009 for research that could eventually lead to the development of more effective drugs to treat and prevent certain kinds of influenza, including human infections of swine and avian flu. "This project provides an opportunity for students to get involved in important laboratory research," says faculty member Jeff Turk, principal investigator.

Terra’s Spring Term experience in China is a tremendous help understanding the relationship the U.S. has with one of its largest trading partners. The business administration major from Monroe has seen first hand the economic effects on southeast Michigan of low-cost imports and Chinese monetary policies.
