Alma political scientist Derick Hulme comments on the Berlin Games, in which Hitler tried to showcase Aryan superiority. “The 1936 Games were simply a particularly dramatic moment in which the world recognized the incredibly close relationship between politics and sports. Pine River cleanup issue: Help from a higher power.
Members of the Pine River Superfund Citizen Task Force had a prayer service as the EPA gets set to discuss how the cleanup of the former Velsicol Chemical plan site will proceed. “The cleanup has to be inclusive. It poses an imminent danger to people’s health and to the environment,” said Murray Borrello, Alma College faculty member.
