Politics Muscle in on Olympics.
Political science professor Derick Hulme was quoted: “The Olympics have always served as a backdrop for whatever is going on in the world at that time. What makes this Olympics more attractive than ever for controversy is the ever-growing stage; it’s on TV all around the world. For many, such as protesters, terrorists, even the host country, it’s a potent platform to get your message out to the entire world at the same time. There are few events that match that type of world stage.”
