Committee to Revise and Reinstitute the Constitution
With this purpose in mind, at the March 4, 2005, the Executive Committee charged three members at large to form the Committee to Revise and Reinstitute the Constitution.

Committee members discussed the Constitution at length and developed a revised version that would incorporate policies adopted in the 24 years since the Constitution was last revised. The Executive Committee reviewed, discussed, and approved the revised version.
The revised Constitution was ratified by the members of the Michigan Academy in September 2005. This was done by ballot, and results of the referendum were determined by a simple majority of members.
