Spanish and a Program of Emphasis in Foreign Service

I'm involved in:

Vice President of Hispanic Coalition, Alpha Gamma Delta, Inter-Sorority Relations Chair of Panhellenic Council, Copy Editor for the Almanian,Kiltie Marching Band, Kiltie Wind Ensemble

After I graduate I plan to

I want to join the Peace Corps and do mission work in Latin America.

My favorite place on campus is

Eddy Music Building lobby—it’s quiet and you can study there!

Some of my favorite professors include

Dr. Cartrite and Dr. Dougherty

So far, my favorite class(es) has/have been

English History with Dr. Furlong—I love history! Also, Public Speaking in Spanish with Dr. Slaughter because it was challenging and it made me become a better speaker.

My greatest accomplishment at Alma is

I went on a Posey Global trip to Peru—I’m just proud of the fact that I went there by myself for a month. It was the longest I’ve ever been far away from home.

I'd advise an Alma freshman to

Find an equal balance between your social life and your academic life. You don’t want to go too extreme either way; you need a happy medium.

I'd tell a student considering coming to Alma

At Alma, we all become a family, and it will really turn into your home-away-from-home!

What I like most about studying at Alma is

There’s always something going on, so you’re never bored! There are so many ways to get involved and make new friends (even if you’re shy).

My favorite part about living on campus is

You really get to experience all the liveliness of Alma – if you weren’t living on campus you would miss so much! You really get to take part in all the activities and the friendships when you’re on campus.
