Through her volunteer event planning for the campus Relay for Life events, Karol realized that she wants a career where she can educate others about health matters. “Studying healthcare administration at Alma proved to me that this is my right path. I’ve always loved psychology so I took it on as a minor. The two end up mixing together when it comes to focusing on emotional stability and outcomes for patients undergoing rough treatments.”

“My long-term goal would be to manage an oncology center. In the short-term, I’m looking more at human resource management for health care and I’d specifically like to focus on cancer treatment centers. I would love to get my foot in the door and thanks to my Alma education, I definitely have a great chance to do that.”

My favorite place on campus is

SAC basement or Chapel lawn

My greatest accomplishment at Alma is

“I absolutely loved the community psychology spring term course. It was a hands-on service learning class in which we worked with the Gratiot County United Way to re-write its grant proposal project so that we could bridge the gap between them and local non-profit organizations. It really taught me a lot about communicating between large organizations.”

I'd tell a student considering coming to Alma

“Alma has given me such a strong foundation to build my career upon. All the connections that I’ve made through my major, all of my experiences and all of the support I’ve received from professors, my chapel family and my sisters in the Phi Sigma Sigma sorority - it’s all built me into a confident and skilled person.”
