Remick Heritage Center for Performing Arts

Michael C. Sheldon

At Alma I have been fortunate to be involved with every performing arts group on campus. I enjoy doing the lighting and sound design for The Alma Choir, The Alma Symphony Orchestra, The Alma College Dance Company, The Kiltie Marching Band, The Alma Percussion Ensemble, and the Collected Alma College Bands. I have also been very lucky to teach for the Alma College Theater Department teaching Lighting Design, Production Management, Intro to Audition, Stage Management, Theater Management, Improvisation, and several levels of Stage Combat. I have been the lighting designer for The Heidi Chronicles and the Rimers of Eldritch and have directed Do Over and the Somewhat True Tales of Robin Hood.

Before Alma I worked professionally and I am a member of Actor’s Equity having Stage Managed Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Cats, Jesus Christ Superstar among many others. I am also  a member of the Society of American Fight Directors and enjoy teaching students of all background the art of combat on stage, even traveling with them to National Combat Conventions in Atlanta, Chicago, and Raleigh. I love working with students and helping them see that they can make a living in theater if they work hard enough.
