Kyle Travis ’09
Even with a double major in economics and business administration, Kyle still found time for leadership roles on the men’s golf team and SAE. Now a financial advisor for Stifel Financial Corp., he really enjoyed the close campus relationships when he was at Alma. “The people make up Alma College - its students, faculty and staff. At Alma you are given the opportunity to be highly involved and connected to anyone and everyone else on campus. It is a very open-minded, forward-thinking, and nurturing environment that larger schools cannot duplicate.”
My hometown when I was a student was
I graduated in
Economics and Business Administration
I am now
Since graduating from Alma
I obtained my Series 7 and 66 Licenses, as well as Life and Health Insurance Registrations.
My Alma education
prepared me for the real world with a holistic approach to education, and the connections I made with other students and alumni while at Alma are irreplaceable. These connections opened the door to job opportunities upon my graduation, continue to be a source to grow my business today, and above all, are a wonderful network of lifelong friends. Alma College shaped me into the person I have become today. I have a hard time believing that I would have had such a wonderful experience had I attended college elsewhere.
My favorite professors(s) included
Professor Mueller and his Introduction to Macro Economics course that opened my eyes to the fascinating world of economics and Dr. Cunningham and his Money and Capital Markets course. This is the class that most closely represents what I do for a living to this day. I knew it was a field I was interested in but Dr. Cunningham and this course in particular helped me solidify my decision to pursue this career path.
My most vivid/best memory of my time at Alma is
from my four years playing for the men’s golf team. Many of my closest friends to this day where those I met while playing golf for Alma.
