Alex Ruhlman ’13
After completing a double major in Economics and Healthcare Administration, Alex now works for Centria Healthcare in Novi, MI. While at Alma, he was a varsity baseball pitcher, a resident assistant, and member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. “My Alma College education not only made me a more well rounded intellectual, but also opened my eyes to numerous social and political issues. I also learned a lot about interacting socially and professionally in my time spent outside of class.”

My Alma education
I loved the small class sizes and the accessibility of all professors outside of class hours. I also enjoyed engaging in multiple organizations outside of class. I developed some lifelong friendships that I could not be more thankful for. I also spent a significant portion of my free time in sports debates with friends.
My favorite professors(s) included
Dr. Bob Cunningham. He challenges all of his students to analyze material and understand exactly how and why things work. My first Principles of Microeconomics course with Dr. Cunningham sparked my passion for economics and ultimately made me want to major in it.
My most vivid/best memory of my time at Alma is
the night after my last baseball game at Alma College. It was a great night that I spent going out with all of my closest friends/teammates and was a bittersweet ending to an unforgettable ride.
