Since graduating from Alma
After graduating from Alma College in 2010 I started to pursue a Ph.D. in Genetic, Molecular, Cell Biology at the University of Southern California. My current research focuses on the epigenetics of bladder cancer. Our laboratory is investigating the methylation patterns along with genetic mutations associated with various stages of the disease to understand how to enhance treatment and provide possible personal treatment programs for patients. While in graduate school, I have also been able to participate in a few marathons and am aiming to qualify for the Boston Marathon soon.
My Alma education
Alma College’s liberal education helped me stand out amongst the qualified applicants to graduate school. The ability to be involved in research and non-academic organizations while attending Alma provided a solid foundation of skills in my graduate career.
My favorite place(s) on campus included
My favorite professors(s) included
Dr. Turk, Dr. Beckmann, and Dr. Mo.
My most vivid/best memory of my time at Alma is
Playing Dance-Dance Revolution in the lobby of Gelston with my roommate Dylan Sova.
