Production responsibilities include designing scenery or supervising student designers for four theatre productions each year in addition to supervising the scene shop. Core teaching responsibilities include production-related lab and design courses, including computer aided design. Other teaching possibilities include courses within the candidate’s areas of expertise, theatre history, and courses in our 1st Year Seminar Program. Duties also include mentoring students, serving on department and college committees, participating in student recruitment and advising of students.
An MFA in design/technology with professional and/or academic experience is required. Candidates must demonstrate experience and skills in scene design as well as technical abilities. The ability to design lights and sound in addition to scenery is an added consideration. Experience in classroom instruction is preferred.
