For 17 days (April 25 - May 10, 2014), southwest Michigan will become the cornerstone of one of the largest and most prominent international music festivals in the world today. More than 100 events will be presented in Kalamazoo, St. Joseph, Grand Rapids, Battle Creek and other nearby communities. Audiences attended from around the world and as many as 28 states to experience legendary keyboard artists and many other highly acclaimed musicians during the 2012 Gilmore Keyboard Festival.
Students are treated to exceptional musical experiences from classical to jazz, from morning to night across West Michigan. With master classes, afternoon concerts, and evening performances, the lineup for the 2014 Irving S. Gilmore International Keyboard Festival will be announced on October 14, 2013. Past festivals have featured world-class artists (Mitsuko Uchida, Andre Watts, Stephen Hough, Richard Goode, Chick Corea, The Daedalus Quartet, Pablo Ziegler Trio, and many others), from classical to jazz in a variety of different settings and venues–music concerts, black-tie and come-as-you-are galas, master classes, symposiums and learning opportunities for all ages. The 2014 Gilmore Artist, Rafal Blechacz, will make his official debut at this year’s festival.
