Lennox Robinson is a well kept Irish secret – a brilliant comic playwright who was a major part of the Irish Theatre movement throughout the first half of the 20th Century. In Lennox Robinson’s The Whiteheaded Boy, Denis is the favorite son, “the whitedheaded boy” of the Geoghegan family in the small Irish town of Ballycolman. The whole town has high hopes for his future. The family has sacrificed everything to help him succeed, however, he and the family learn there is nothing harder to believe than the truth, and the truth is a very dangerous thing in a place like Ballycolman.
