In Robinson’s The Whiteheaded Boy, Denis is the favorite son of the Geoghegan family in the small Irish town of Ballycolman. The whole town has high hopes for his future. The family has sacrificed everything to help him succeed; however, they soon learn there is nothing harder to believe than the truth, and the truth is a very dangerous thing in a place like Ballycolman.
