Endowments and Scholarships

A healthy endowment is a perpetual source of funding that enables the college to be less reliant on tuition revenue and better able to withstand economic challenges. Endowment allows Alma College to attract and retain outstanding faculty and students, support innovative programs, foster student/faculty collaboration, promote international education, encourage spiritual life and foster multicultural initiatives. Gifts to the endowment are made with the understanding that the principal is continually preserved, and that any funds spent come from the earnings of those investments.

 Hogan Training Center

The Hogan Training Center has a $3.2 million goal for the construction of a wrestling practice space and enhanced strength and conditioning space. This will free the current wrestling room and will allow this multipurpose space to be used for STUNT and Cheer and other athletic team needs. If we raise more than needed for the projects outlined, the addition may include space for locker rooms and wrestling coaches’ offices. They do have offices and share the football locker room.

A new wrestling center and multi-sport conditioning space on the east side of Hogan will respond to facility needs created by the college’s recent growth in athletic programs. All students will benefit when we relieve the schedule conflicts and overcrowding that are now common in the Hogan Center and Stone Recreation Center. We hope this new indoor practice space will lead to potential student recruitment, retention and competitive advantages, provide spaces for Alma’s growing strength and conditioning program, and relieve overcrowding.
