Version 3.1 has been made more compatible with Mac OSX Classic mode and Windows XP

Version 3.0 contains 4 new paradigms, several enhancements requested by users, and of course bug fixes. If you are upgrading from an early version, see Version History for a complete list of what you have missed.  Some highlights:

There are three new psychophysical methods. In addition to method of adjustment, you can now take measurements of length, size, orientation, distance, etc. with any of the paired classical comparison methods: Method of Constant Stimuli, Method of Limits and the Adaptive Staircase method. An experiment can conduct multiple measurements using the same or different methods.

El draw will now conduct trials in hidden target maze learning, a human analogue to the Morris Water Maze. Experimenters design a maze by specifying the number, size, and position of invisible targets. Subjects move the mouse cursor around the screen until they locate all targets. El draw reports elapsed time and can replay all or part of the performance at normal or altered speed. Experimenter can specify whether the targets must be found in a particular order and whether or not they become visible as they are found. There is an improved interface for EL set that facilitates use of multiple stimulus fields. (This requires that adjustment and target information be specified using EL draw's new Adj. menu.)

Enhancements for drawing experiments include: 1. Mouslock which has the same effect as locking the mouse button down so you don't have to keep it depressed while drawing and 2. Out-of-path Alarm for the mirror drawing task which beeps whenever the cursor is not within the defined path.

EL sort can now be used to reconfigure any Multi-dimensional data file whether or not it was produced by Eye Lines. Capabilities include transforming speadsheets so that a row factor becomes a column factor (and/or vice versa) and collapsing (averaging) one or more factors. Non-EL files may require the addition of a header row to identify the status of each spreadsheet column. (These capabilities are also available in EL Knife, a free data utility
