Assistant Professor of Theatre and Technichal Director/Designer at Alma College. John holds an AB in theatre from Ripon College and an MFA in Scenic Design from the University of Arkansas. John joined the faculty at Alma College in the fall of 2006 and teaches Theatre Crafts, Design for Theatre, Lighting Design, Sound Design, Scenic Design, and Scenic Painting. John has designed and worked for various professonal and summer theatres in the midwest and is an active member in the United States Institute for Theatre Technologies(USITT)

Carol Fike

Associate Professor of Dance and Director of the Alma College Dance Company, Fike holds degrees from State University of New York at Brockport, and an M.F.A. in Dance from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  A member of the faculty since 1984, she has performed professionally in New York and Europe. Continuing her interest in computer technology, Fike teaches during the Summer Institute at Alma College working with LIFEFORMS software. She continues to be interested in creative process, encouraging students to find their own voices as they discover dance for themselves.

Joe Jezewski

Associate Professor of Theatre and Director of Theatre at Alma College. Jezewski holds a B.A. from Lycoming College, an M.A. from University of Kentucky and an M.F.A. in Directing from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. A member of the faculty since 1993, Joe teaches acting, directing, playwriting, theatre management and theatre history. He has directed and acted professionally in theatres in New York City and throughout the eastern United States. Previously he was the head of the directing program and Artistic Director/Producer of the Studio Theatre at Fordham University at Lincoln Center in New York City.

Thomas Morris

Thomas Morris, Associate Professor of Dance at Alma College, holds a Master of Fine Arts in Dance from The University of Michigan. For fifteen summers, he served as a faculty member of the world renown Interlochen Arts Camp and most recently also with the American Ballet Theatre Summer Intensive in Detroit and Austin, Texas. Mr. Morris’ performing credits include the Cincinnati Ballet, Garden State Ballet and Ballet West in Salt Lake City as a principal dancer. He has performed leading roles by contemporary choreographers such as Balanchine and Ashton, as well as principal roles in a majority of the great classical ballets. Teaching credits include Alma College, Lansing Community College, The University of Michigan, Interlochen Arts Camp and guest teaching across the United States. Mr. Morris has choreographed/staged works for the Alma College Dance Company, the Interlochen Arts Camp, the Interlochen Dance Ensemble, The University of Michigan, Lansing Community College, Danscape of Midland, MI, and various other venues. His choreographic accomplishments include stagings of The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Act II, Les Sylphides, Paquita, Kingdom of the Shades from La Bayadere, Coppelia and Giselle for the Alma College Dance Company and Pas de Quatre for the Interlochen Dance Ensemble, as well as many original works. He has been the recipient of several grants and awards.

Ashley Sawatzke

Ashley currently serves as the Alma College Theatre Department Intern. She received her B.A. in English and theatre from Alma College in 2006. Ashley acted in several productions during her time here at Alma, including "The Trickster of Seville," "A Flea in Her Ear," and "Major Barbara." After graduating Ashley was the assistant director for the first annual Big Rock Shakespeare Festival and went on to assist technically for several shows as a member of the Owosso Community Players. Ashley is pleased to be back at Alma College helping students hone and develop their craft.

Michael C. Sheldon

Michael C. Sheldon, Heritage Center Director and Presbyterian Hall Technical Director. Originally from Pontiac Michigan, Michael received his Bachelor of Science from Northern Michigan University in Technical Theater. He then went on to receive his Master of Fine Arts Degree from The University of Alabama in Stage Management. Michael has worked in professional theater for the past 10 years as a Lighting Designer, a Stage Manager, and Stage Operations Crew Chief. He is a member of Actor's Equity and the Society of American Fight Directors. Michael teaches stage Combat and Technical Theatre classes.

Tina Vivian

Costume Designer/Shop Supervisor. Tina is a 1994 graduate of Alma College and received her MFA, Printmaking from Central Michigan University in 1998. During summer 2001, Vivian was the costumer for the Bay View Music Festival.
