The state revolves around, economic growth, world relations, and internal business.The state in Italy has a big job ahead of them.There are issues of spending and growth that have started to clash in this country of great history and romance.The spending is a greater than the earning and this is becoming a great harm to a wonderful nation.

Spending by the Italian government has reached an all time high.The fiscal imbalances with in the past two decades reached an all time high in 1994 when the GDP peaked at 124 percent. (County Watch. Italy Information. www.countrywatch.com/files/084/cw_topic.asp?cCOUNTRY=084&tp=ECO. 27 Sept. 2001.)This is a massive amount to try to overcome when paying back the debt created.Capital account deficits have almost tripled in two years: from about 18 billion dollars in US currency, to 25 billion dollars.That is a lot of difference and an even greater amount of debt. Italy. 1998.)Then in 1966-69 there was a period of expansion that took place, though not as rapid as in the early 60’s.The growth was due to a plan that made each of the five regions, Valle d’Aosta, Trention-Alto Adige, Friuli-venezia Guilia, Sardinia, and Sicily, administration legislation and management responsibilities.(www.mi.crn.it/WOI/deagosti/history/republic.html. In 1968-69 while there was social unrest in many nations, there also became unrest in Italy.This put a slow on the economic growth in the country, partly because of the upset in labor unions. Developments and Problems in Recent Years. 27 Sept. 2001.)Then there was an energy crisis in 1979, the whole world had to deal with; the Italian had a great deal of consumption and down swing of their own economy.This created a hug recession in their economy. The unemployment grew to be in the two millions. Organized Crime and terrorism reigned over the country and the economy.Not until the 1980’s did the nation start to see some improvement in the economy and the control over the violence. Have there been steps taken to help this problem, yes and no.For the most part Italy has tried to work out their financial difficulties by tending their own sheep, and trying to stay out of other countries affairs.Joining NATO helped the financial area as well as the fact that they are a part of the European Union (EU).There is not a lot you can do for a country that borrows money until they are further and further into debt, besides advise them on what they can possibly do to change the situation.The problem with advising a country is that the country needs to heed the advise to do any good, and since most countries are lazy and stubborn when it comes to listening to advise, it can be a waste of breath.The EU has helped by trading with the country and it tries to put more money into their economy, just like NATO they do not ask for much back, even though they continuously dump money into the military and defense to help with terrorism.

World relations are interesting in Italy.There is nothing worse in the world to help create a general help policy for a region and have everyone ignore it.Italy played an important part in creating the Mediterranean Initiative and now no one is willing to back the policy and it is making the policy.This is an important policy for all of Europe, especially with the terrorism that has been taking over in the world.The problem is that everyone wants to be a part of the helping hand, but minus the cash. Mediterranean Initiative. 27 Sept. 2001.)There is no way to get around contributing money when you want to help people.The whole idea of trying to keep out terrorism and not spending money is absolutely absurd.How could intelligent world powers think that to help poor southern countries they would have to spend absolutely nothing?That’s right it, there is no way on God’s green Earth, and Italian are more than religious. Could life be any worse in this country?But yes wait, there is, internal strife runs high in this country.

Italians are territorial.If you Sicilian you are not Venetian.That is the worst part about Italy.It even got so bad that The Northern League would like to break off and be a separate country.There is no reason to be another country when speak the same language, and use the same currency.There is no reason that people who share those important things shouldn’t be torn apart by a few wanting to change the masses.Stay unified it is better for the country.

The military is hard thing to deal with in this world, especially when you don’t have funds. Italy has this miracle idea of deficit spending and not ever repaying the people of the country or other governments.Guess what gets left for the last idea, oh that’s right money for the military.Italy’s military basically buys its weapons off the black market.Old, out-dated, over-used equipment is what the Italian military is used to. NATO has a problem with helping build the military because it would cost so much.There is nothing wrong with trying to rebuild a military force, but you have to have money and that they do not have.If NATO is unwilling to help then there is little hope until the government stops spending elsewhere and spends on the military.My proposal, take part of the state collected taxes and set those aside specifically for military funding.If the government must they should ask private investors to help in the acquiring of a better military force.Better military force, less terrorism internally.

Terrorism is a gigantic issue in Italy.There have been more than enough bombs in public places in Italy to have concern over the issue.Terrorism from within it’s own boarders happens because of the ethical issues and moral differences between certain groups.Terrorist like to attach public venues like train and bus station, where there are a greater number of people.If the military is being attended to, that means that the police-keeping end of their job will be better able to take care of internal terrorism.I am proposing that we draw up a policy about terrorism stating that all terrorist will be tried and if found guilty executed for their crimes.Terrorism is a huge threat, and if the death penalty is imposed upon the perpetrators there is a greater chance of less terrorism.The other thing, we need to have NATO more actively involved in our country.NATO also has every thing to do with the Mediterranean Initiative.

NATO’s Mediterranean Initiative is the biggest load of crap any organization has ever put together.The people on the boards with in NATO have got to be kidding.A peacekeeping initiative that has no standing affect in the long run.The policy would like to have NATO help keep outside terrorism to a minimum through peacekeeping efforts with the dialogue countries.The dialogue countries are: Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Mauritania, Morocco, and Tunisia. Italy helped in setting up the policy because they are a southern country and it would be easier to attach Italy.The Italians thought it better to keep the peace than pick up the pieces afterwards.NATO has one small problem; the supporting countries are willing to support the peacekeeping efforts as long as it doesn’t involve their own money.My proposal to fix this, we need to look for ways to spend the money wisely, but we do need the money.NATO countries are going to have to give support to the ideas and the countries that need help in the peace process. Please understand we do not want to suck the supporting countries money dry, that’s not it, if there is any way that those countries can afford to help, the money will be wisely spent.

All in all Italy has it’s own problems to deal with, but there are ways to deal with them that will help out the world also.If Italy can find a way to help stop the internal terrorism and economic downfall there will be many counties that can learn from Italy’s mistakes.Italy is a advantageous country to be associated with and they have and will continue to help with the peacekeeping process in southern Europe.
