The department offers many opportunities to work and get paid for it! These jobs can also be part of work-study. If you are interested in one of these jobs for the upcoming semester, talk with one of the professors and inquire about openings. |
| Rover: Performs general cleaning and maintenance in the areas of printmaking, drawing and painting. Cares for the plants in the building. Sets up still-lives for classes. |
| Curatorial Assistant: Maintenance of permanent collection storage. Cutting mats and assembling frames for additions of new work to the collection. Labeling work and entering it into the reference filing system. Hangs up and checks on artwork hung across campus. |
| Slide Librarian: Manages the slide library, keeping it organized and finding any slides requested by the professors in and out of the department. May be called upon to assist with art history classes or shoot and label new slides. |
| Gallery Assistant(s): Aids in management of the gallery, putting up and taking down shows. As a Saturday docent, opens and closes gallery and greets vistors. Assists with gallery mailings and announcements about shows. |
| Digital Assistant: Supervises MAC lab during open hours, helping students use programs and printers. Updates computers and provides general maintenance in the lab. |
| Photo Assistant: Supervises photo lab during open hours, assisting students with their photo processing. Keeps lab clean and organized. |
| Shop Assistant: Keeps regular shop hours each week to provide assistancs to students after-hours. Performs general maintenance and cleaning. May be asked to assist with demonstrations. |
| Ceramics Assistant: Performs general maintenance and cleaning in the ceramic studio. Assists with firings, material preparation and mizing clay. May be asked to help with demonstrations and supervise during open studio hours. |
