Scots See Strong Performances at Walt Disney World Cross Country Classic
ORLANDO, Fla. - The Alma College women's cross country team ran in the Walt Disney World Cross Country Classic in Orlando, Fla., on October 7.
Allison Gibson (Rochester Hills/Adams) led the Scots, finishing 114 with a time of 21:23.45. The Scots competed in an open pool against teams including Brigham Young who won the event with an average time of 18:08.92. Other schools included IPFW, Milligan College, Hofstra, Florida Atlantic, Central Florida, Florida Southern, Johns Hopkins and 28 others. The Scots finished 28th overall as a team.
Other individual runners included Cierra Dinsmore (Mesick) with a time of 22:06.00, Miriam Johnson (Saginaw/Nouvel) with a time of 22:18.27, Emily Whitmer (Cadillac) with a time of 22:48.73, Sarah Nicholas (Metamora/Lapeer East) with a time of 23:23.54 and Joye Kallgren (Trenton) with a time of 24:07.88.
Runners who ran for Alma College but their times were not eligible for team scoring include
