WOMEN'S TENNIS: Scots Defeat Saint Joseph's College, Improve to 6-2
Mar. 5, 2008
Alma, Mi.- Coming off a week that saw the Alma College Women's Tennis Team (6-2) get as much sun as they did wins while playing in the beautiful weather of Orlando, the Scots went back inside to take a 5-4 win from Saint Joseph's College.
The Maroon and Cream jumped out to an early lead but saw it disappear as the dual match came down to a 4-4 tie with only the #1 doubles to play. Luckily for the Scots, Kelly Schwartzkopf (Dryden/Almont) and Margaret Curtiss (Saginaw/Nouvel C.C.) were on their game and brought in the match 8-5 and the win for the Scots.
Schwartzkopf and Curtiss along with Lindsay Wagner (Lapeer/East) and Abbey McCue (Bay City/Western) also took their singles for Alma.
With the win, the Scots improve to 6-2 on the year and will host Manchester College on Saturday, Mar. 8 for a dual match scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
