Co-Head Coach Anneliese Fox

Anneliese Fox is joining the Alma College Athletic Department a co-head coach for the Women’s Tennis Program in 2008.

Home grown, Fox played four years of varsity tennis for Alma High School. While competing for the Panthers, Fox racked up a 102-26 record, four conference championships, led the team to a 40-0 record in dual meets, and was named to the All-State team in both 2000 and 2001.

After graduating from Alma High School, Fox went on to play four years at Hope College. While at Hope, Fox continued to dominate her opponents which reflected in a 67-22 record, three MIAA MVPs (2004-06), and being the #1 singles flight champion for four years from 2003 to 2006.

Since leaving Hope College, Fox has served as a USPTA teaching professional at Orchard Hills in Grand Rapids and is currently working towards a M.A. in social work at Michigan State University.
 

 

Students at Alma College can get involved in any of nearly 100 campus organizations, including fraternities and sororities, student government, academic honorary societies, campus media, intramural sports, the performing arts and worship groups.

Chris Hamstra

Chris Hamstra

Coach Hamstra graduated from Hope College in 2004 with a B.A. in Accounting. During his time at Hope, Hamstra was a four year student-athlete, received All-MIAA honors and was also named to the All-American team. Hamstra was also a member of MIAA Championship teams and brings that winning attitude and work ethic to his new position.

After graduation, Hamstra served as an assistant coach for Hope’s Swimming and Diving Program under Dr. John Patnott. Hamstra credits Dr. Patnott with helping him to understand the science of swimming and also the importance of season long work out plans. “As an assistant in his program, I was given the freedom to implement my own workouts into the system, providing me with insight into what it takes to develop season long plans."
