2008: Started in 13 contests but saw the field in 15 total. Suffered a severe ankle sprain early in the preseason during a scrimmage vs. MSU's club team. Despite injury Tara contributed 4 goals and 6 assists putting her at fourth place on the team for Points (14). In her junior season Tara served as a team captain and made the all-MIAA 2nd team. Fourth in the MIAA for assists averaging .4/game.

2007: Tara's off-season dedication paid dividends as she was the most improved player from the conclusion of the 2006 season. Started in 17 games. Recorded 6 Goals and 7 Assists, good for second on the team in Points (19). Moved into Alma College record books with 10 career assists placing her 8th on that list. Was selected MIAA Offensive Player of the Week in week 3. Was selected "Most Significant Player".

2006: Started every game in freshman campaign. Tallied 4 goals and 3 assists. Top 3 on the team in points (11). Was selected All-MIAA Honorable Mention. MIAA All Academic Honor Roll.

High School: Coached by Kevin McCauley at Marshall High School.Two year All conference/All Distrcit.Team MVP senior year. Four sport Varsity athlete.

Service/Volunteer Activities:National Honors Society. Soccer Special Olympics.

 

More than 100 Alma College students and staff traveled to destinations in South Carolina, Kansas, Tennessee, and Texas for service projects during winter break in February 2009. "Alternative Break service experiences continue to gain popularity on Alma College's campus," says Sallie Scheide, assistant director in the Center for Responsible Leadership.

Jeff Hosler ‘02 joined the Alma College Athletics staff as the Scots women’s soccer coach in 2006 and has helped the Maroon and Cream rise as one of the most talented young teams in the MIAA.

In his time at Alma, Hosler became one of the best players in the 30 years of Scots soccer. He remains the all-time assists leader and ranks in the top ten in career goals and in the top five in career points. He helped the Scots to their second MIAA title, first-ever NCAA Regional Championship and first-ever NCAA Final Four appearance in 1999 en route to first team All-MIAA and third team All-Mideast Region honors. He would go on to earn first team All-MIAA accolades again in 2001 and was named to the conference’s second team in 2000.
